Car Cleaning Hacks to Make Your Cleaning Last

When the warm weather hits, it’s the perfect time to take care of your car. If you have not cleaned your car in the winter, it will surely be a mess inside. Here are few car cleaning hacks that can get your car ready for road trips this summer season.

The Interior Carpets and Upholstery

You need to start with cleaning the interior carpets. But before that, remove all trash that lies inside. You can use a good vacuum cleaner to suck the dry dirt and debris from the interior carpets and then use a damp towel to clean the seats.

The Console

You need to be careful while cleaning the console to ensure you do not wet any electrical connections. Use a damp cloth to wipe the console clean. If there are any stains, you can use any commercially available mild cleanser to get the stains off. You need to also clean the cup holders and remove dirt by using an old toothbrush. To ensure the dust does not settle down in a few days, you can use cupcake liners and place them in the cup holders. When they become dirty, you can easily replace them with new ones.

Clean and Organize Compartments

You keep several important things in different storage compartments in the car. When cleaning the compartments, get rid of anything that is non-important. Clean the compartments with a vacuum cleaner and use a toothbrush to reach farther corners of the compartment. When the compartments are clean, be sure to put the important things back in place.

The windows and front windshield need to be sparkling clean. Use a glass cleaner to clean the windows from the inside out. You can use a lint-free cloth to dry them or even use old newspapers to dry the windows. Also, clean the mirrors the same way so no view is obstructed.

The Trunk

You need to check the trunk next and get rid of any trash cluttering the space. You can use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of any dirt. You need to also check the spare tire and clean it if necessary. Also check the air pressure and ensure it is at the recommended level.

The Wheels

Hose down any loose dirt from your tires and rims. Prepare a cleaning solution by using one spoon of liquid dish soap and mix it with a bucket of warm water. Spray the solution on the tires and rims and use a hard brush to get rid of mud from the tires. You can dip a microfiber cloth in the cleaning solution to wipe off dirt from the rims. To clean hard to reach places on rims, use an old toothbrush. After you have scraped off the dirt, use a high-pressure hose to wash off the cleaning solution and dirt from the tires and rims.

The Exterior Body

Use an acid-free soap or cleaning solution and a soft cloth to remove dirt from the exterior body. There are several special cleansers that are perfect to clean the exterior body of your car. Make sure you get rid of winter grime from the surface, under the edges and from any cracks. Use a high-pressure hose to clean the solution and dirt from the exterior body.
